About The House
Highclere is spacious, light and well equipped as a home away from home. It has a large garden and sweeping view across fields to the sea one mile away. Three living rooms and a garden mean that there is plenty of space for everyone.
It sleeps up to seven in four bedrooms.
The downstairs double bedroom and bathroom make the house ideal for two families, for the elderly or those with mobility difficulties.
Bedroom 1 downstairs with 5 foot double bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers.
Bedroom 2 with 5 foot double bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers; travel cot available
Bedroom 3 with 3 foot single bed, and wardrobe; 2ft 6in single camp bed (thick mattress) available
Bedroom 4 with 3 foot single bed and wardrobe.
There are two full bathrooms, one upstairs and one downstairs. Both have bath, shower over, wc and hand basin.
All the living rooms make the most of the great view.
The well-equipped kitchen has plenty of cupboard space, a cooker, hob, convection microwave, large fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer, bread maker, kitchen table and chairs, and radio with iPod connection.
The kitchen is open to the living room with leather sofas and armchair, TV and DVD player, and has a door through to the conservatory with cane chairs.
The separate dining room has a large table and chairs, sofa, books and board games.
All rooms are centrally heated.
Outside there is ample room to park (something of a bonus in a Devon village) and level access to the house (one step up to the front door). The large garden, with furniture and barbecue, is perfect for children to play in.
Bed linen, t-towels and hand towels are all included. No bath or beach towels. Weekly clean and linen change available at no extra charge during stays of two weeks or more.
Due to the steep, ungated stairs and low windows in bedroom 2, we do not think Highclere is suitable for toddlers.
Unfortunately we cannot accept pets.
A car is essential although some bus travel is possible.
